President's Volunteer Service Award Program
  EN ESPAÑOL
The President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation created the President’s Volunteer Service Award program as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. The Award is given to individuals and families that have demonstrated outstanding volunteer service and civic participation over the course of a 12- month period.

Award recipients receive:
— An official President’s Volunteer Service Award pin
— A personalized certificate of achievement
— A note of congratulations from the President of the United States
— A letter from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation

The Beyond the Bell Branch School Volunteer Program of the Los Angeles Unified School District will act as a Certifying Organization for the Points of Light Foundation to honor volunteers who support youth development and achievement. Volunteers who serve LAUSD students for at least 100 hours during a 12-month period will be eligible to receive a President’s Volunteer Service Award. The school with which they serve will verify their hours and nominate them for the award.
