KidCare

The Beyond the Bell Branch (BTB) KidCare is a state sponsored program that provides an environment where children can participate in intellectual, creative, social and recreational activities that are developmentally and linguistically appropriate and culturally relevant. KidCare activities support and enhance elementary school programs and are designed to meet the individual needs of each child.

KidCare staff work in cooperation with parents, other school staff and the community to achieve program goals and objectives. KidCare activities include homework time, multicultural activities, snacks, arts and crafts, games and other recreation.

The goals of the KidCare program are as follows:

• To provide a safe environment for children.
• To provide activities for children that are developmentally and linguistically appropriate and which will supplement the elementary school program.
• To ensure that subsidized and non-subsidized children receive equivalent services.
• To serve children in a nondiscriminatory manner in regard to race, ethnicity, sex, religion and children’s special needs.
• To use community and District resources including educational, cultural and recreational activities in order to promote a diversified program for children and to achieve cost effectiveness.
• To provide creative opportunities for staff to continue professional growth and to foster positive communication.
